One thing that I have gotten used to in Melbourne is the cafe culture. You can always find a little spot to have coffee and some breakfast.
This has proven slightly more difficult in DC. I would have assumed that there would be many places to sit and eat on the main drag in Georgetown. This is not the case. I found one eventually, but it was much harder than I've gotten used to. This is also considering that I wasn't all that interested in Starbucks...

Hi, may I ask something? Have you been in Sydney? How do you find living in Melb? I haven't firmly decided yet, but begin to think of practicing in Melbourne after finishing my law degree. I just wonder what life in Melb would be like as it seems Sydney is getting more cramped these days...
Hi Jina,
I've been to Sydney a couple times, but I don't know that I can say I've got a fair view of it because it was a few short trips.
I like Melbourne, but the sprawl is pretty serious. However, I find the people nice, and I like the culture, and what's nearby. I like Victoria, and I like the weather. It's not as hot as Sydney, but remember, I'm from San Francisco, so I like it cooler...
I found Sydney to be a bit faster paced, which may be good, or may be bad, depending on what you're looking for.
Thank you, Brendan.
I just loved Melb's well-organised streets and trams when I was there in July. Not to mention the vibe of the city. Plus, Victorian jurisdiction seems somewhat progressive, but looks like aiming at more practical solution than any other, which I'd find great to work.
Well, I've heard San is one of the best places to live in the world, but seeing you chose Melbourne, Melb must be the place to be. =)
Again, thank you very much - from what you've said, I now can have more clear view of Melb.
